All About Kids Montessori is a home licensed School serving children ages 2 years Old - Kindergarten. Our program aims to help children achieve bilingualism, through dual language immersion, sensory & perceptual, physical, cognitive, gross motor & fine motor skills, self-care & personal development skills, and social & emotional skills.
We here at All About Kids Montessori have prepared an educational environment, independent, confident, bilingual, academically prepared, and socially responsible students, who will be lifelong learners using the Montessori philosophy, that will simultaneously prepare both the mind, heart, and character of children to further the advancing of civilization for which we are responsible.
We are very excited to be providing an Authentic Montessori setting for children between the ages 2 years old through 5 years of age during the critical time of discovering this world we live in.
A constant routine is established at our school. We are based out of a loving private home. We converted our back house that has two big rooms and a restroom that we built into our own mini Montessori school! We know that we might not be the right fit for everyone, but having an option such as ours gives families choices as to where they think is the best environment for their child to grow, learn, and thrive in.
One of the first things you notice when you walk into a Montessori school is that the classrooms are not divided by age. In a Montessori classroom, you will see children of different ages working together and socializing, happily. You might, for example, see an older child showing a younger one how to complete an activity, or a younger watching what his older classmate can accomplish with fascination.
Younger children naturally look up to and emulate older children, and so in a classroom with a range of ages, there are always opportunities for a child to “graduate” from observer to leader. Older students also find great joy in being trusted to guide their younger peers.
By combining age groups into one classroom, the Montessori method creates a diverse environment—since differences in age, for young children, correspond with vast differences in every other ability.
Both younger and older students have a chance to develop a growth mindset by observing all of the learning process in one classroom.
Montessori students have more time to explore academic concepts at their own interest and readiness.
So, rather than a classroom of four-year-olds all being directed to practice phonics at once, a comparable Montessori classroom would have Three and Four-Year-olds working on any number of activities at their choosing and experience level.
Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and highly trained teachers offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process. Children work in groups and individually to discover and explore knowledge of the world and to develop their maximum potential.
Our Montessori classroom are beautifully crafted environments designed to meet the needs of children. Dr. Maria Montessori discovered that experiential learning in this type of classroom led to a deeper understanding of language, environment, mathematics, science, music, social interactions, independence, and much more.
Every material in our Montessori classroom supports an aspect of child development, creating a match between the child’s natural interests and the available activities. Children can learn through their own experience and at their own pace. They can respond at any moment to the natural curiosities that exist in all humans and build a solid foundation for life-long learning.
Montessori education is student-led and self-paced but guided, assessed by knowledgeable and caring teachers, the leadership of their peers, and a nurturing environment.
Within the community of a multi-age classroom—designed to create natural opportunities for independence, citizenship, and accountability—children embrace multi-sensory learning and passionate inquiry. Individual students follow their own curiosity at their own pace, taking the time they need to fully understand each concept and meet individualized learning goals.
Given the freedom and support to question, probe deeply, and make connections, Montessori students grow up to be confident, enthusiastic, and self-directed learners, leaders and citizens, accountable to both themselves and their community. They think critically, work collaboratively, and act boldly and with integrity. What better outcome could you wish for your children?
